Dating Beyond Dating Apps

I stopped by the All Out show on SiriusXM for a Valentine’s Day discussion of how to return to that mythical pre-dating-app courtship time when people approached each other for dates — IN PERSON! Here are some highlights. Listen to the full episode on-demand on SiriusXM / Shade 45 / All Out Show from Feb. 13, 2023.

I challenge all single people to ask someone out the old fashioned way this week!

Jude: my long distance Valentine

It’s not just about having the courage to approach someone; you also need to know how to receive it and engage.

Asking someone out is always a win/win — even if you’re rejected.

Shout-out to most dudes who are just trying to connect in a respectful way.

Why dating apps have made most guys lazy and deficient in communication skills.

Challenge yourself to date against type to get what’s been missing in your past relationships.

A wise caller lays it out for you: It’s not that deep!

Attention women: treat guys you find unattractive equally to those you find attractive in how you regard their advances!

Rejection builds resilience — and eventually there will be a yes.

We value things we have to work for. Relationships are no exception.

An ability to effectively read social cues lowers fear and anxiety in dating.

Asynchronous communication (like a text) is a cop-out. Synchronous, real time communication is what really proves your mettle.

The irony of apps: They hurt relationships more than they help them (by design).

Jude dropping truth bombs for all the ladies out there.

Where to meet the ladies? ….yoga, anyone?

My value system: courage is sexier than formal degrees.
